Your first session, start to finish.

SoloSearcher is your private workspace for the businesses you're pursuing. Your workspace starts empty — your first session is about bringing your companies in, then telling it where you're searching and what you'd never buy. Everything in your workspace is yours alone.

Bring your companies #

The first step is getting companies into your workspace. Import your own target list, start one from a CIM, or add companies by hand. Want a ready-made, research-ready list to work from? You can buy a territory-scoped dataset — built from public records and enriched with our estimates — from data.solosearcher.com and import it here. You can always add more later.

Set your territory #

Onboarding asks for your territory first: either a home base with a radius around it, or a set of states. Your territory is a default lens, not a fence — the companies list scopes to it and shows a pill saying so, tells you when more matches exist beyond it, and search always looks everywhere. You can change it anytime under Settings → Search defaults.

Skip the industries you'd never buy #

Next, onboarding shows an industry picker grouped by sector. Anything you exclude is hidden from your lists and counts by default — not deleted. Every filter bar has a toggle to bring excluded industries back into view, and the exclusion list is editable later from the same Search defaults settings page.

Browse and filter companies #

All Companies is the main list. Filter by status, state, city, industry, rating, employee count, founding year, estimated size, or distance. Two defaults worth knowing: companies you've passed on or closed out and companies in your excluded industries are hidden unless you toggle them back on — so a plain count can read smaller than everything in your workspace.

Rate and track companies #

Open any company and it becomes your workspace for that business: set a rating and a status, write notes, attach contacts and documents, and record real financials when you get them. Everything you add is private to you. When a company is a clear no, mark it passed — it drops out of your default view and stops costing you attention.

Connect your AI (optional) #

If you use Claude or another AI assistant, you can point it at your own SoloSearcher data and just ask questions in plain English. It takes about two minutes — see Connect your AI.
